Power Knocked Out In Upper Michigan By Strong Storms

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Upper Peninsula Power Company says high wind storms that swept across parts of Upper Michigan yesterday left more than two thousand utility customers without power.

Strong winds caused scattered damage to homes and downed power lines.

UPPCO says residents who may encounter a downed power line should stay at least 25 feet away and to call their utility or local law enforcement agency.

At last report, a few dozen customers are still without service with the majority in the Ishpeming service area in Marquette County.
