NMU Graduate Competes On TV Show, “Jeopardy!”

    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) –  A Northern Michigan University graduate and current teacher in Alaska is one of fifteen of the best and brightest educators in America who are competing this week on the TV show “Jeopardy!”.

    Mary Beth Hammerstrom is currently a contestant in the “Jeopardy! Teachers Tournament”.

    Her semifinal will be broadcast at 7:00 p.m. tomorrow on Channel 10 WBUP in Marquette.

    Her brother, Eric Hammerstrom, teaches at Marquette Senior High School.

    The winner will receive $100,000 and earn a spot in the show’s “Tournament of Champions”.

    Show producers say win or lose, each teacher will receive a minimum of $5,000 and a Classroom Jeopardy! unit for their school courtesy of Educational Insights.
