Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Michigan State Police are warning residents of a phone and text message scam making it’s way around Northern Michigan.

The scam involves contacting credit union members via call or text with a number for the victim to call back.

When they do, they are asked to give their account information.

Credit union officials say they do not solicit any personal or account information through text messaging or phone calls.

They say if you receive any text message or phone call asking for personal information or bank account information, hang up.
