Michigan Unemployment Levels Hold Steady
Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Michigan’s jobless rate appears to be holding steady. Michigan’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in both September and October was nine percent, matching the August 2013 rate, according to data from the Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget.
The state’s unemployment rate in October was one and seven-tenths percentage points above the national rate of 7.3 percent.
The U.S. jobless rate edged upward over the month by one-tenth of a percentage point.
State officials say job advances occurred in most of the state’s industry sectors, led by professional services and manufacturing.
