Marquette County Communities Seek State Funds

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Two Marquette County municipalities are currently seeking funding from a state program for various storm and wastewater projects.

The cities of Marquette and Negaunee are looking for a portion of 97 million dollars in money for storm water, asset management and wastewater projects.

The money comes from through the Department of Environmental Quality SAW program and communities can receive up to two million dollars.

The grants will be issued on a first come, first served basis, and the deadline to apply is December 2nd.

Awarded funds will be distributed over a three year period.
