Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality is holding a public hearing tomorrow in Marquette County on the air permit issued for Lundin Mining’s Humboldt Mill.

Lundin officials say the mill design has been refined and measures have been defined to reduce the overall estimated emissions.

In accordance with DEQ regulations, the changes are requiring a new permit application, which the mill has applied for.

The DEQ will hold the session tomorrow evening at the Westwood High School Auditorium to take public comment.

An informational session will begin at 6:00 p.m. and the hearing will be at 7:00 p.m.
