Domestic Violence Victim Dies At MGH From Injuries
Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Authorities in the Copper Country say a Dollar Bay woman has died from injuries she sustained in a recent domestic violence assault.
The Houghton County Sheriff says the victim, a 27-year-old female, whose name has not been released, died late last week from the injuries.
She was assaulted by her husband, 34-year-old Nima Nassiri on Sunday, December 8th.
The woman was originally taken to Portage Health in Hancock and was later transferred to Marquette General.
Nassiri was charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm – less than murder, a 10-year felony.
Further charges against him are now being sought in the case.
He is currently being held at the Houghton County Jail on $5 million bond.
