    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Alger County Sheriff’s Department responded to a house fire early this morning in Munising Township.

    The fire was reported just after 1:30 a.m. and it destroyed a mobile home on Johnson Road in Van Meer.

    Few details have been released, but some injuries were reported, including burns and smoke inhalation, and the family has lost everything.

    Community donations to assist the family can be dropped off at the Alger County Sheriff’s Department at 101 East Varnum Street, and a fire relief fund has been set up at the Munising Community Credit Union.

    Michigan State Police, Munising Township Fire Department, Alger County and Marquette General EMS all assisted at the scene.

    The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
