Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – State Police at the Iron Mountain Post are warning residents about a scam involving job postings on the website Craigs List.

Troopers say a person responded to a job posting on the site and was hired without an application, interview or a background check.

The person was then asked to fill out paperwork listing bank account numbers and other financial information.

When the person asked why the information was needed, the company representative became irate and rude and hung up the telephone.

Police remind residents to not provide any financial information to anyone if you do not initiate the transaction and legitimate job applications do not ask for any financial or bank account numbers.
