Last Shopping Day Before Christmas Is Here
Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – This is it, the final day of the 2013 Christmas shopping season, and last minute gift buyers can expect the usual crowded stores.
Tom Scott, of the Michigan Retailers Association, says retailers will do their best to accommodate those consumers, but again “patience” will be the rule in order for ultimate shopping success.
Scott says while Michigan retailers predicted an average one-point-three percent gain in Christmas sales this year during the time of the Federal government shutdown and having six fewer shopping days to deal with, season-ending sales have been brisk and those projections could be better when all totaled up at the end of January.
He says Michigan sales could equal pre-season National retail projections of three-to-three-point-nine percent improvement.
