Holiday Travel Reaches Peak

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Christmas/New Year’s travel period is officially underway, and according to a Triple-A Michigan survey 2.9 (M) million Michigan residents are travel 50 miles or more from home from now through New Year’s Day.

The Auto Club says 92-percent of Michiganders in the survey will go by car, truck or van, mostly to family and friends, six-percent will go by air, and the rest will travel by bus or train.

Nationally, Triple-A estimates 94-point-five (M) million Americans will travel over the same period, with 91-percent getting to holiday destinations by car, truck or van.
