As 2013 wrapped-up, Detroit recorded the city’s fewest number of criminal homicides in several years.
As of Tuesday morning, 332 homicides were reported compared with 384 at the same time last year.
The department reported 308 in 2010 and 364 homicides in 2009.
Sgt. Michael Woody is pleased with the progress, saying that those numbers represent lives being saved in the city.
Police in Flint also said that city experienced a drop in killings in 2013.
