The Marquette Fire Department and Others Respond To An Early Morning Structure Fire

    Marquette City Fire Department warning people to stay off ice at Tourist Park

    The Marquette City Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 535 E. Michigan Street early this morning.
    Upon arrival, the fire was showing from three sides of the structure. A third alarm was called for additional personnel.

    Firefighters were able to verify that all occupants were out safely.

    The fire suppression team entered and was able to control the fire in about 40 minutes. Fire crews remained on scene working on overhaul and extinguishing remaining hot spots.

    The structure sustained heavy fire and heat damage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

    The Marquette Fire Department was assisted on the scene by Marquette Police, The Marquette Township Fire Department, Marquette Public Works, MGH 141, The Marquette Board of Light and Power, Semco Energy, and the American Red Cross.
