Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – State Police at the Sault Ste. Marie Post are continuing the investigation into a weekend fatal snowmobiling accident that killed an Ontario man.

61-year-old Ronald Kelly of Soo, Ontario, was killed Saturday evening around 6:30 when he was eastbound on East 8 Mile Road in Chippewa County’s Bruce Township.

Kelly was riding with 3 other snowmobilers and he was ejected from his machine when it hit a snowbank at the unplowed end of a seasonal road.

He was taken to War Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Excessive speed and alcohol use were believed to be factors in the accident.
