Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Authorities have re-opened a stretch of M-28 from Harvey to Munising.

The roadway was reopened by State Police around 11:30 a.m. after being closed since 9:00 o’clock last night due to whiteout conditions cause by high winds off of Lake Superior.

Lake-effect snowfall and icy conditions are continuing mainly east of Munising and motorists are being urged to slow down and use caution and be prepared for visibility and road conditions to change quickly.

Icy and hard-packed roads are being reported across the region and motorists should expect longer commute times.
