Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Michigan State Police are putting out a warning to Michiganders to be careful in the extreme cold weather expected today.

Officials with the agency and Michigan Homeland Security are reminding people the temperatures are potentially life-threatening.

They urge everyone to have emergency kits in their vehicles with extra blankets and high-energy foods in the event drivers get stranded.

Brutal winter conditions are continuing across the state with high winds and blowing snow.
