Escanaba, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Bay College has announced a series of budget cuts at their Escanaba and Iron Mountain campuses to address a deficit of over one million dollars.

Officials say enrollment drops and a double-digit percentage increase in health care costs resulted in the need for the financial adjustments.

Faculty and administrative staff position cuts along with trimming of operational expenses have resulted in the college addressing a 1-point-2 million dollar shortfall.

Officials say the budget cuts were made in order to keep student tuition affordable at the school.
