Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Four people were hospitalized following a two-vehicle accident in Marquette Township yesterday afternoon.

According to the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred around 12:30 p.m. on West Fair Avenue near Granite Street.

Deputies say 52-year-old Lisa Wilcox of Big Bay was westbound on Fair Avenue in a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee when she lost control of her vehicle on the icy roadway and slid into the path of an oncoming 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by 36-year-old Amanda Haile of Marquette.

Wilcox and a passenger, 91-year-old Doris Schrock of Big Bay, were taken to the MGH E-R for the treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Haile and her young daughter sustained minor injuries.

Authorities say all occupants were wearing seatbelts, and icy roads were a factor in the crash.
