State Police At Negaunee Post Report High Speed Chase

    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – State Police at the Negaunee Post report a high-speed traffic chase this weekend.

    A vehicle was fled the scene of an accident on US 41 in Marquette Township around 9:30 Saturday morning.

    Troopers saw the suspect vehicle speed past the Negaunee Post, heading west on US-41.

    The driver of the suspect vehicle refused to stop, and two state police cars were able to box in the vehicle, reducing the suspect’s speed considerably.

    As the pursuit reached the intersection of US 41 and Oak Street in Negaunee one of the troopers used his patrol car to make the suspect vehicle slide sideways and come to a stop on the highway.

    The suspect was taken into custody at the scene and lodged at the Marquette County Jail for fleeing and eluding police in addition to several other charges.

    The incident remains under investigation pending review by the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office.

    There were no injuries and only minor damage occurred to both vehicles.
