Driver Arrested For OWI After Accident

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A Marquette County man has been arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol after crashing his pickup truck into snow bank.

Marquette County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the accident around 11 a.m. yesterday morning on County Road 581, just south of County Road CCE in Ely Township.

Deputies say the man lost control of his 2000 Dodge pick up truck, hit a mailbox and post and ended up in a snow bank.

A passerby called 911, and while waiting for police it was suspected the driver may have been under the influence of alcohol.

The 44–year–old Palmer man was arrested for OWI and resisting and obstructing.

His name has not been released at this time.
