Michigamme Township Gets $258K Streetscape Grant

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Michigamme Township is one of 14 communities selected to split up more than 7.6 million dollars in funding for public infrastructure improvements.

The Michigan Economic Development Corporation has awarded the funding through the Michigan Strategic Fund’s Downtown Infrastructure Grant program.

In addition to improving their downtowns, the grants will spur additional economic growth in the surrounding areas.

Michigamme Township will use a grant of just over $258,500 along with matching funds of $65,000 for streetscape improvements.

All of the projects located in traditional downtowns, will be completed by December 31st and will support reactivation of public spaces and incorporate design elements.
