Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Another telephone scam is making the rounds across the region.

Authorities are warning the public of a recent series of attempts to gain personal financial information via a phone call.

Reports say a telephone call is made to the victim claiming a problem with their credit or debit card and that they will need to enter their personal account numbers to address the matter.

The call identifies itself as coming from a financial institution and the calls are showing as a “restricted number” on caller IDs.

Police are telling residents to not give out any personal financial information over the phone to an unknown source and to simply hang up if you receive such a call.
