Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A pretrial will be held today in Baraga County Circuit Court for the two Wisconsin men who posed as U.S. Marshals and held two Upper Peninsula residents at gunpoint during a robbery last summer.

Bernard Fish and Donavan Waupoose face a number of charges, including extortion, unlawful imprisonment, and impersonating a peace officer to commit a crime.

Waupoose and Fish are accused of breaking into a home in the village of Watton in Covington Township on August 1st, 2013.

The pair identified themselves as federal agents and then held the occupants hostage in exchange for a 10-thousand dollar ransom.

They didn’t get the money but eventually left with wallets and a handgun.

A motion hearing last month combined both trials which are scheduled to take place on April 14th.
