MI DNR Release New 5-Year Plan For Forests

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Department of Natural Resources’ Forest Resources Division has released a new five-year strategic plan for management and protection of Michigan’s forest resources.

The plan covers 2014-2018 and outlines a guide for decisions that will best influence the health of Michigan’s state forests and the land-based industries that depend on them.

DNR staff are developing specific steps designed to meet the plan’s goals and objectives.

The plan is titled “Seeing the Forest, the Trees & Beyond” and is available on the DNR website www.michigan.gov/forestplan.
