Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Word from Northern Michigan University that today’s scheduled presidential candidate visit for Cynthia Pemberton has been cancelled due to weather-related travel issues and will be rescheduled for a later date.

Pemberton is one of four candidates announced last week.

All four will be visiting the NMU campus over the next week and a half and will give a 5-7 minute presentations at public forums.

Pemberton is the provost and vice president for academic affairs and professor of education at Dickinson State University in Dickinson, N.D.

The blizzard moving through the Dakotas cancelled Pemberton’s flight to Marquette.

The next presidential candidate forum is 4 p.m. this Thursday when Dr. Robert Ackerman, professor of law and former dean at Wayne State University Law School, is scheduled to visit.

The forum will take place in the Marquette and Nicolet rooms of the University Center and is open to the public.
