Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – 109th District State Representative John Kivela is praising Governor Rick Snyder’s decision to declare a state of emergency for communities in Marquette County.

In a statement released yesterday, Kivela said he was happy that the governor made the declaration of state help for dealing with frozen water lines in Marquette County.

The Marquette Democrat commended the work of local municipalities in keeping their communities up and running, but said it was without a doubt that Marquette County needed state assistance.

Snyder’s declaration of an emergency situation in Marquette County will make state resources available to restore water service to homes and businesses that have been affected by this winter’s extreme cold and deep frost.
