Ishpeming Men Sentenced In Kidnapping And Torture Case

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The two Ishpeming men convicted in a torturing and kidnapping case received their sentences today  in Marquette County Circuit Court.

44-year-old Jason Sadowski and 66-year-old Charles Cope were convicted in March for the kidnapping and torture of two women last July in Ishpeming.

Judge Jennifer Mazzuchi sentenced Sadowski to 40 to 80 years on one count of solicitation of murder.

He was also sentenced to 5 to 10 years on two counts of strangulation.

Cope was sentenced to a minimum of 25 and a maximum of 40 years on two counts of torture.

Both Sadowski and Cope received 10 to 15 years on each of the two counts of unlawful imprisonment.

The men will serve their sentences concurrently.
