Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – State Police at the Negaunee Post say they had good success in a recent prescription drug take back effort.

59.5 pounds of prescription drugs were collected at the post during the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, April 30th.

All 29 State Police posts in Michigan participated in the one-day effort collecting a total of 1,189 pounds of prescription drugs.

The program gives people a safe and convenient place to get rid of unwanted and unused prescription drugs.

Anyone who may not have been able to participate in the program can still turn in their unwanted medications at any State Police post weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
