Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The National Weather Service is warning people in the U.P. of high fire risk today.

Dry conditions due to a lack of any steady rain and gusty southeast winds up to 25 mph are combining with low relative humidity and temperatures in the mid to upper 60s today.

This will result in critical fire weather conditions today across the Upper Peninsula, especially inland.

The Weather Service says a Red Flag Warning is in effect from late this morning into the early evening for Upper Michigan, and burn restrictions by the Department of Natural Resources are in effect.
