Marquette, MI- (Great Lakes Radio News) – Three Upper Michigan residents have been sentenced to federal prison for distributing two types of drugs commonly known as bath salts.

56-year-old Scott Bernard Will of Mass City was sentenced to 11 ½ years in federal prison.

A federal jury in Marquette found will guilty last December of distributing  and conspiring to distribute the substances in Baraga and Houghton counties.

Also sentenced were 34-year-old Derrick John Guzek, also of Mass City, and 31-year-old Kristen Ellen Bergeron of Pelkie.

Guzek received a sentence of 16 months in prison while Bergeron was sentenced to 18 months.

Authorities say Will began selling bath salts in the Marquette area in 2011 and was jailed for his activities from June 2011 until November 2012.

Upon release from jail, he went back to selling the substances in Baraga and Houghton counties in early 2013.

He and his co-conspirators were arrested in April 2013.

Guzek and Bergeron plead guilty and testified against Will for the government.
