Chippewa County, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The body of a missing downstate man has been found in the eastern U.P.
According to the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department, the body of William Wenzel of Merrill was located yesterday afternoon in Lake George near Rock Island.
Wenzel had been missing since last November 27th, when he had gone out fishing on the lake.
High winds that day caused large waves on the lake and Wenzel never returned.
Authorities have now closed the investigation and are considering Wenzel’s death an accidental drowning.
