Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The word Yooper has now been added to the Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary, but it’s not without a problem.

The word, which is defined as the term for a native of or longtime resident of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan was among approximately 150 words added to the latest edition of the dictionary.

According to reports, the suggested pronunciation lacks the letter “p,” though the rest of the entry itself is correct.

When contacted about the misprint, a company spokesperson acknowledged the error but did not indicate when the entry would be corrected.
