Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – 110th District State Representative Scott Dianda has passed a House resolution declaring June 2014 Log Cabin History Month in Michigan.

The resolution honors Michigan’s log cabin preservationists and historians belonging to the Log Cabin Society of Michigan, who have worked to preserve more than 100 historical log cabins throughout the state.

The Calumet Democrat says the measure the honors the work of the Iron County Historical Society, which will unveil its extensive collection of log cabins this Saturday.

Dianda says the group has painstakingly restored and reassembled at least 17 log structures on its premises in Caspian.
