Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Roadwork has begun today on a portion of U.S.-41 in the Upper Peninsula.

M-DOT is resurfacing 11-miles of roadway from the Delta/Alger county line to the Alger/Marquette county line. The preventive maintenance project is designed to extend the life of the pavement.

The project will last through September. M-DOT is also resurfacing 4.5 miles of M-117 from the Mackinac/Luce county line to M-28.

The project will also last into September. M-DOT is also starting the rebuilding 2.3 miles of non-motorized pathway along US-2 in Iron County from Gibbs City Road to Ninth Avenue in Iron River today.

That project is scheduled to be complete on July 1st.
