Chocolay Township Police Vehicle In Four Car Crash

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Marquette City Police have released more information about a four-vehicle traffic accident involving a Chocolay Township Police vehicle on Friday night.

The accident happened around 6:00 p.m. on U.S. 41 when a Chocolay Township Police Department vehicle, driven by Officer Anthony Carrick, entered U.S. 41 from South Lake Street and was struck by a northbound vehicle driven by Andrew Mills.

Officer Carrick had just picked up a juvenile from the Marquette City Police Department.

After hitting the police vehicle, Mills’ vehicle crossed the center line and struck a southbound vehicle on U.S. 41 driven by Carl Jamison.

Jamison’s vehicle then struck another southbound vehicle, driven by Howard Tobin.

Occupants in the Chocolay Police vehicle and Mills’ vehicle were taken to MGH.

Investigation concluded that Officer Carrick failed to yield to oncoming traffic when he entered U.S. 41 South.
