Breitung Township Woman Accused of Embezzlement

    New jackpot record for PowerballA 67-year old Upper Peninsula woman is accused of embezzling from a local bank. Josephine Novara of Breitung Township is charged with embezzlement from a financial institution in excess of $10,000, punishable by up to 20-years in prison. She allegedly took the funds from a First National Bank and Trust branch in Iron Mountain. Novara was released on a $10,000 bond pending a preliminary hearing July 2nd in Dickinson County District Court.
