Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A new poll finds Michigan’s gubernatorial race this year is now a dead heat. The statewide poll, conducted by Public Policy Polling says incumbent Governor Rick Snyder in in a 40-40 percent tie with Democratic challenger Mark Schauer.
Earlier the governor had leads of 49-29 in April and 44-40 in December.
Currently 37% approve of the job the governor is doing, and 54% disapprove. Both numbers were in the 40’s early in early polling.
While Schauer is even in the polling with the governor, he is largely unknown to the public. 49% have no opinion about him and of those who know him, 26%have a favorable opinion of him & 24% have an unfavorable one.
