MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A trial date of October 13th has been set for Michael Nelson, the Big Bay man charged in the fatal hit and run of an NMU employee in December 2013.
Nelson has a final pre-trial appearance in Marquette Country Circuit Court on October 2nd.
Nelson is accused of hitting 54 year-old Robin Rahoi, who was found dead on Lighthouse Road in Big Bay. Police determined she had been hit by a car. After a lengthy investigation, Michael Nelson was arrested and arraigned.
He is charged with failure to stop at the scene of an accident when at fault resulting in death.
