Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A KC-135 Air National Guard aircraft made an emergency landing at Sawyer International Airport in Marquette County yesterday.

The plane landed at the former Air Force base after the pilot declared an in-flight emergency just before 5:00 p.m.

Reports say the plane, which is based out of Milwaukee, had a problem in the hydraulic system and the pilot decided to land the plane at Sawyer.

Several area fire departments and rescue crews were on hand as the plane landed around 5:30 p.m. without incident.

Crews were working on the plane and it is expected to fly out sometime today.
