Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – State Representative John Kivela is praising a total of $6.7 million slated to go toward fixing roads in the 109th District through the M-DOT Priority Roads Investment Program.
Funding was spread out in two phases for road projects across the state, and Kivela’s district received the 5th-largest investment out of the state’s 110 districts.
The Marquette Democrat says he is happy to see the needed road repairs coming to his district, but several communities and counties around the state received no money.
Kivela says that the Legislature must return to Lansing and make it a priority to figure out a comprehensive road funding plan.
