Man Arrested After Making Threats to Ex-Girlfriend

Marquette, MI – August 8, 2014 – Formal charges are being considered against one person who was arrested yesterday after a short early morning standoff with police in Marquette. Officers were called to the 1400 block of Lynn Street just before 6:00 a.m. on a report of a man making threats to an ex-girlfriend. Officers arriving on the scene found the man locked inside of his vehicle wearing a gas mask, body armor and chainsaw chaps. The man refused to cooperate with police, and after about 30 minutes, officers were able to enter the vehicle and took the man into custody. No injuries were reported and the man was taken to Marquette General Hospital for evaluation. Names are being withheld pending the continuing investigation.
