Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Marquette City Police are continuing their investigation into a death that occurred over the weekend during the Ore to Shore bike race.

Police located the body of a 37-year-old Elm River, Wisconsin man after he was overdue to finish the race.

Authorities searched the course and located the man’s body around 2:30 p.m. Saturday on the 1900 block of Presque Isle Avenue near the intersection of Wright Street.

Reports say the man was unresponsive and attempts to revive him were unsuccessful

The cause of death remains unknown and the man’s name is being withheld pending the continuing investigation.
