U.S. Senator Carl Levin

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Michigan’s senior U.S. Senator is supporting the the bilateral security agreement signed by the U.S. and Afghanistan.

Carl Levin, Chair of the Senate Armed Services Committee, says the agreement is a strong foundation for moving forward with Afghanistan to secure their nation’s future.

The Detroit Democrat says Afghanistan has accomplished much with the help of the United States and the international community.

Levin says this week’s historic peaceful transfer of power and this new partnership provides important assistance to the Afghan people in securing freedom from the extremists of the Taliban and al Qaeda.
