Two U.P. Men Heading To Trial For Copper Theft

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The cases against two Gogebic County men who are charged with breaking and entering of properties in the western U.P. to steal copper are moving ahead.

27-year-old Scott Savero of Bessemer and 25-year-old Cory Leuzzo of Ramsay were arrested in August by State Police at the Wakefield Post and charged in connection with the theft of copper from buildings in Carp Lake Township and White Pine in Ontonagon County.

Savero’s trial has been scheduled for December 17th in Ontonagon County Circuit Court.

He faces a a preliminary exam in Circuit Court on November 24th.

Leuzzo will appear in Ontonagon County District Court for a scheduling conference on December 19th.
