Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) –  The Upper Peninsula Power Company says an automobile accident was the cause of a power outage early Sunday morning that affected several hundred customers in Marquette County.

Crews worked to restore power to the Gwinn-Little Lake area after a vehicle struck a utility pole near CR 456 and Millyard Road near Little Lake just before 2:00 o’clock Sunday morning.

The outage happened when the power line fell near train tracks used by Canadian National Railway Company.

UPPCO says power was restored to its customers by 7:30 a.m. Sunday.

The outage affected approximately 800 customers.
