Trial Set For Ishpeming Man Charged In Fatal Accident

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The date for the trial of a Marquette County man charged in connection with an accident last summer that claimed the lives of two motorcyclists has been set.

19-year-old Raymond Michael Anderson of Ishpeming plead not guilty to two counts of moving violation causing death for the accident that happened on June 5th on US-41 at Lakeshore Drive in Ishpeming.

Anderson was the driver of a Ryder truck that turned in front of an oncoming motorcycle operated by 64-year-old Gary Kappler of Ahmeek.

Kappler and 52-year-old Diane Palosaari of Mohawk were killed in the crash.

The jury trial in Marquette County District Court will begin on October 15th.

The charge is a misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail and a $2,000 fine.

Anderson is currently free on bond.
