Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Michigan DNR has released their annual deer season forecast.

DNR biologists are predicting similar success rates to last year overall across the state.

In the U.P. specifically, there is a decreased number of deer throughout the region, with most losses in this year’s fawns and yearlings.

Biologists says back to back severe winters were the reason for the decline.

The report says that U.P. hunters should expect to see fewer deer, especially in the younger age classes.
