Weekend Fatal Accident Under Investigation

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The investigation is continuing today into a weekend fatal vehicle-pedestrian accident on US-41 in Marquette Township.

The accident happened around 8:00 p.m. Saturday when a group of pedestrians were crossing the highway from the Cedar Motor Inn to the Marquette Buffalo Wild Wings.

A 55-year-old Kansas man in the group was struck by an eastbound minivan driven by a 43-year-old Gwinn woman.

The man was thrown into the grass median by the impact and was pronounced dead on the scene.

The woman and her three passengers in the minivan were not injured.

No other injuries for the group were reported and no names have been released at this time.
