Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)  –  A name change has been announced for regional hospitals under LifePoint healthcare.

Officials have launched a new name, logo and brand image for Bell Hospital in Ishpeming, Portage Health in Hancock and Marquette General Hospital as “U.P. Health System”.

Under the new plan the hospitals will be known as “U.P. Health System – Bell”, “U.P. Health System – Portage” and “U.P. Health System – Marquette, A Duke LifePoint Hospital”.

LifePoint says the decision to rebrand the facilities was made collaboratively by local hospital leadership.

They add that the U.P. Health System name combines the experience and history of Bell and Portage Health, with the tertiary care of MGH.

The new logo and brand will be implemented in the coming months through new facility signage at each hospital, updated websites and more.
