Sault Ste. Marie, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians expects to hear from the federal government on their application to bring a casino to Lansing in the coming weeks.
The tribe submitted their application four years ago and believe the U.S. Department of Interior is close to making a decision.
The 245-million dollar plan that calls for building a casino across from the Lansing Center has been challenged by the State Attorney General and is also still being challenged by two other Native American Tribes in the state.
